PRACTICE
Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the American Bar Association
- the largest professional membership organization in the world with over
400,000 members. In this capacity he manages an organization with over 2,000
entities, a budget of approximately $120 million and a staff of 800.
Prior to his tenure at the ABA, Mr. Stein was a professor of law and
served as Dean of the University of Minnesota Law School; he also served
as Vice President of the University during his career. Mr. Stein has taught
and written in the areas of Property Law, Decedents Estates, and Estate
Planning. While Mr. Stein was a law professor, he also practiced law Of
Counsel and developed a national reputation as a leading estate planning
attorney.
