· Provide legal support and advice to all specialist departments acting as the lead transactional attorney, with extensive focus on Post-War & Contemporary Art, World Art, global Executive management team and the Chairman’s Office;
· Pitch for, structure, negotiate and close complex, multi-million-dollar, global auction and private sale transactions with UHNW individuals, collectors, financial professionals, institutions and museums;
· Draft agreements related to Christie’s business and marketing activities;
· Spearhead training and advice to Executive management on deal risk;
· Advise on employment issues and draft and negotiate employment agreements;
· Manage team of four attorneys and two paralegals;
· Act as legal liaison for Christie’s representation of artist’s estate, exhibition and sale activities in California;
· Provide legal support relating to accreditation and governance of Christie’s Education including with NYS Board of Regents;
· Oversee Christie’s intellectual property globally;
· Guide company-wide charity auction endeavors, including through donations to 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations offering property for sale through Christie’s;
· Served as legal lead for art lending activities in the Americas;
· Represent company as lead spokesperson on cultural property issues;
· Provide counsel on issues including title, authenticity, bidding disputes, non-payment and buyer default, import/export, trade restrictions and CITES/wildlife regulations;
· Manage outside counsel on variety of disputes and targeted advice.
